Women’s Networking Community in East Sussex

The Story Behind Bizzybirds

Bizzybirds was born from one woman’s simple but powerful wish: to find a women’s networking community in East Sussex that felt warm, welcoming, and genuinely supportive. When Jane first became self-employed after nearly 28 years in the corporate world, she knew she needed connection. She wanted to meet other women in business — women who understood the juggle, the doubts, the ambition, and the messy middle of running a business.

But she couldn’t find a group that ticked all the boxes.

“I was looking to network with like-minded women but couldn’t find a group that felt right for me.”

The networking events she tried either felt too formal, too early, too expensive, or too focused on pressure and referrals. As a single mum, early breakfast meetings simply weren’t possible. The high membership fees didn’t work for her budget. And the weekly attendance requirements and sales-driven culture just didn’t feel good.

“It was important to me that I felt like I fitted in. I didn’t want the pressure of referrals or being told I had to attend every week. Surely I wasn’t the only woman looking for this kind of networking?”

She wasn’t — and that’s exactly where Bizzybirds began.

What started as a softer, more human way to connect has grown into a thriving women’s networking community across East Sussex, with meetups in Eastbourne, Hastings, Hailsham, Seaford and online. Every meeting reflects the same intention Jane had from the very beginning: a space where women can come as they are and feel instantly at home.

A Community Designed With Real Women in Mind

Bizzybirds is not your typical networking group. It’s relaxed, friendly, and built around what women actually need — connection without pressure.

Women often say they walk in nervous and walk out feeling lighter, inspired, and genuinely connected.

Here’s what makes Bizzybirds different:

  • It’s informal and welcoming. No hard pitches, no need to stand up to talk.
  • It’s flexible. In-person and online options mean you can join in the way that fits your life.
  • It’s affordable. No compulsory expensive annual memberships or pricey extras. You can even pay as you go if you like.
  • It’s real. Women show up exactly as they are — beginners, seasoned pros, introverts, extroverts, and everyone in between.
  • It’s supportive. The focus is on encouragement, confidence, and community — not competition.

This is a community built for real women doing real business in the real world.

Jane King -The Heart Behind Bizzybirds Networking Community

Meet Jane, the creator of Bizzybirds networking group for women.

Jane King

Founder

Jane brings a blend of lived experience, warmth, and genuine encouragement to every meeting. After decades in corporate roles and the leap into self-employment, she understands how daunting networking can feel — especially when you’re doing it alone.

Her aim has always been to create a space where women feel they belong from the moment they walk in.

Jane believes that confidence grows in the right environment. With her natural ability to connect people and her background in building teams and relationships, she hopes Bizzybirds helps women step into their own strengths, find their voice, and build businesses that feel good to run.

“I hope my experience — and my personality — encourage women to grow and feel confident.”

Bizzybirds is more than a meeting. It’s a community shaped by empathy, understanding, and the belief that women thrive when they support one another.
